Therapy Services for Teens and Young Adults in Wisconsin

Individual therapy rooted in evidence-based and somatic approaches to support healing, growth, and emotional regulation.

What I help with

Anxiety and overthinking

Anxiety can show up as constant overthinking, difficulty relaxing, physical tension, or feeling on edge. I help teens and young adults understand the patterns behind their anxiety while learning tools to regulate their nervous system and feel more grounded in daily life. Therapy focuses on building awareness, coping skills, and confidence at a pace that feels manageable.

Trauma and past experiences

Past experiences can continue to affect emotions, relationships, and self-image long after they’ve occurred. I offer trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR, to help clients process experiences safely without feeling overwhelmed. This work supports healing while increasing a sense of safety, control, and resilience.

Life Transitions and identity exploration

Transitions such as starting college, changing relationships, or questioning identity can feel destabilizing. Therapy offers support during periods of change, helping clients build clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of self while navigating uncertainty.

Relationship challenges and boundaries

Relationships can bring up anxiety, self-doubt, and emotional stress. I help clients explore patterns in relationships, strengthen communication skills, and build healthy boundaries that align with their needs and values.

College and Young adult stress

Academic pressure, independence, and future uncertainty can feel overwhelming. I work with college students and young adults to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and build coping strategies that support both emotional well-being and daily functioning.

Emotional Regulation and burnout

Many teens and young adults feel emotionally exhausted, numb, or overwhelmed by expectations. Therapy provides space to slow down, reconnect with emotions, and learn regulation skills that support balance and self-compassion. We focus on understanding emotional responses rather than pushing them away.

Therapy Services

I offer individual therapy for teens and young adults using evidence-based and holistic approaches tailored to each client’s needs. Therapy sessions are collaborative, supportive, and paced to promote both emotional insight and nervous-system regulation.

Therapy Modalities

EMDR Therapy

EMDR therapy helps teens and young adults process distressing memories and experiences that feel “stuck.” This evidence-based approach supports the brain and body in reducing the emotional impact of past experiences without needing to relive every detail. EMDR is often helpful for trauma, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and body. Many teens and young adults experience stress and anxiety physically, such as tension, restlessness, or numbness. Somatic therapy helps clients build awareness of their nervous system and learn gentle tools for grounding, regulation, and emotional balance.

DBT Therapy

DBT-informed therapy helps teens and young adults develop skills for managing intense emotions, coping with stress, and navigating relationships. This approach focuses on emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and communication skills, offering practical tools clients can use in everyday situations.

CBT Therapy

CBT-informed therapy focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This approach helps teens and young adults identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier ways of responding to stress, anxiety, and self-criticism. CBT offers practical strategies that support emotional well-being and daily functioning.

IFS Therapy

IFS therapy helps teens and young adults understand the different “parts” of themselves, like the part that feels anxious, the part that shuts down, or the part that tries to stay in control. Instead of trying to get rid of these parts, we work to understand them with curiosity and compassion.

This approach supports healing from trauma, anxiety, and self-criticism by helping clients feel more connected, balanced, and confident from the inside out.
